How long is a DBS disclosure valid for?

Disclosure certificates have no validity period. The older the Disclosure the less reliable it becomes. DBS recommends that disclosures should be renewed every 3 years or if the applicants did them on-line and they subscribed to the Update Service, the employee can then carry out free, online, instant checks to see if any new information has come to light since the certificate’s issue. The Update Service is a new subscription service that lets individuals keep their DBS Certificates up to date, so when they move jobs they can take the certificate with them. Related Links: | |
